In 1993, Ulysse Nardin invented the GMT± with its signature plus and minus pushers to instantly adjust the hour hand to another local time; and the “Hometime” window which displays the time at home when one is traveling abroad. Patent No. CH 685 965.

The GMT± Dual Time can be adjusted to a different local time without ever taking the watch off the wrist or interfering with the watch timekeeping.
The hour hand jumps, one hour at a time, backwards or forwards. The minute hand continues to run and keeps the time.

In 1995, Ulysse Nardin invented the Big Date double window display for easy reading of the date (Patent No. CH 688 671). This extraordinary invention permits synchronized date changes when the hour hand is adjusted to a new local time across the dateline. This technical breakthrough was made possible by the use of 2 discs which enlarge the date display and was first embodied in the revolutionary Perpetual Ludwig in 1996. Now it is a feature of the GMT± Dual Time.
