Ulysse Nardin, Made for America

Ulysse Nardin celebrates its storied and historical connection to the United States of America with three timepieces that honor the spirit of the Land of the Free. With “Made for America” Ulysse Nardin continues to pay tribute to America’s history, support her in the present day and shine a light on her future.

As early as 1905, Ulysse Nardin’s bond with the United States was forged through its connection to the U.S. Navy by supplying ships and submarines with mobile, on-board chronometers, after claiming victory in an official watchmaking competition. The brand would go on, to proudly serve as an Official Timepiece for the U.S. Navy for decades to come.

Today the brand operates on deeply rooted military values which are evident in today’s timepieces. Innovation, precision, and accuracy are at the heart of Ulysse Nardin and extend to meaningful partnerships, honoring American servicemen and servicewomen.

HONORING THE PAST

Ulysse Nardin Swears “Semper Fortis”, a US limited edition of 173 pieces that Celebrate its Historical Partnership with the U.S. Navy

Semper Fortis Semper Fortis

Semper Fortis (‘Always Courageous’), an unofficial motto of the United States Navy, inspired the Marine Torpilleur Military ‘Semper Fortis’ timepiece. A magnificent representative of the brand’s origins and continued prowess – the watch is a guardian of marine history and a modern archetype inspired by its ancestors.

Using design cues from the original 1905 chronometer, the watch includes many of the same features including a polished shiny steel case, an oversized crown, roman numerals and a large second hand for readability.

The pioneering partnership between Ulysse Nardin and the U.S. Navy began in the early 1900s, when the Washington Naval Observatory organized a competition for ‘Precision Torpedo Boat Timepieces’. The goal of the competition was to supply the Navy with the best available onboard chronometers. The timepieces, given to superior naval officers, were meant to provide the torpedo boats & first submarines with a timekeeping precision as accurate and reliable as those on the largest naval vessels. Ulysse Nardin won the competition many times over and became the official supplier of the American Navy.

By invitation from the U.S. Secretary of the Navy, Ulysse Nardin attended the 2018 Congressional Medal of Honor Convention organized for the first time at the prestigious Naval Academy in Annapolis. Ulysse Nardin is proud to have partnered with the Medal of Honor Society, to honor the heroes of past and present who have demonstrated bravery, gallantry and sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty. A perfect setting for unveiling a limited edition timepiece made for America.

SEIZING THE DAY

Stars and Stripes Align for the American Independence Day, with the Limited Edition Executive Tourbillon “Stars & Stripes”

Stars and Stripes Stars and Stripes

With its spirit of determination and audacity, Ulysse Nardin takes disruption to a new level with the Executive Tourbillon: “Stars and Stripes.” Each piece in this limited line of 50 pieces - one for each state in the Union – is as unique as its wearer.

Created in homage to the American flag, the watch wears its 13 red and white stripes and 50 white stars with pride. Painted using a micro-painting technique that requires a paintbrush the width of a single eyelash, stars adorn the top and stripes decorate the cover of the cylinder. The UN-171 manufactured tourbillon movement, with a tremendous and unequalled 170-hour power reserve - nearly seven days -, is also an object of beauty topped with a blue ceramic bezel, blue crown and blue carbon effect leather strap. The arachnid-like skeleton reveals the militant mechanisms operating each part impeccably, each piece angled and polished to perfection.

As inscribed on the U.S. Navy banner, “vis per mare”, “strength from the sea”. With the Ulysse Nardin Executive Tourbillon Stars and Stripes, the journey begins! Only a few watches remain available upon request.

LIGHTING THE WAY

Ulysse Nardin Diver Deep Dive “One More Wave” Limited Edition to 100 pieces, a Watch to Support Disabled Veterans

One More Wave One More Wave

The Ulysse Nardin Diver Deep Dive “One More Wave” watch was designed to shine a light on One More Wave, a San Diego-based non-profit organization, founded by U.S. Navy Seals, which provides disabled veterans with custom surfing equipment, therapy and community.

Their mission to help veterans through ocean therapy resonates strongly with Ulysse Nardin and the brand’s long-standing ties to the sea and U.S. Navy. By bringing awareness and fundraising efforts to One More Wave, Ulysse Nardin creates a brighter tomorrow for the nation’s veterans.

The timepiece features a striking yellow and black design, with a black DLC titanium case and 1,000-meter water resistance. The case-back is engraved with the “One More Wave” Navy Seal-inspired trident logo to signify the partnership.

Members of One More Wave inspired the design of the limited edition timepiece to reflect the founders’ background in amphibious warfare. The diver watch also stands up to the highly variable pressures of deep diving and the intense action whilst surfing.
