Enamelling is one of the rarest and most demanding decorative arts preserved by Ulysse Nardin. Practiced for over 3,000 years, it produces colours of exceptional depth and permanence that retain their original character over time. This expertise lives on at Donzé Cadrans, Ulysse Nardin's dedicated in-house enamelling atelier. The process begins with raw enamel compounds, washed and ground by hand into a fine powder before being transformed into a pigment paste. This paste is applied to the disc, then fired at around 800°C. Layer after layer, the enamel gains depth, intensity and radiance.
