The year 2026 marks two major milestones for Ulysse Nardin: 180 years of legacy and 25 years of the Freak. To celebrate both anniversaries, the Manufacture unveils a year marked by Freak novelties and continued innovation, including a complete reengineering of the Freak X, which required more than two years of development by Ulysse Nardin’s engineers and designers.

Self-winding

For this latest generation of the Freak X, Ulysse Nardin developed an entirely new in-house caliber, the UN-232: slimmer, smarter, and mechanically more advanced. The movement is produced at Ulysse Nardin’s Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and is assembled from start to finish by a single watchmaker. Despite its more compact architecture, the caliber delivers a 72-hour power reserve.

The new Freak X introduces a completely reengineered case architecture, developed to bring the Freak experience into everyday wear without compromising its radical identity. Unlike previous generations of the Freak X, which relied on a modular titanium architecture, the new model is built around a monobloc case crafted from 80% recycled steel or full rose gold. Contrasting satin-brushed, polished, and hand-finished surfaces create depth, light, and movement throughout the watch, affirming the Freak X as a true high-horology timepiece beyond its radically technical architecture.
