Almost a quarter century ago, Ulysse Nardin changed contemporary mechanical watchmaking with the first Freak. The year was 2001 and out of the workshops of Ulysse Nardin’s historic Le Locle Maison came a watch so unexpected, it was as if it appeared out of the blue —an alien in the traditional world of Swiss Haute Horlogerie.

FREAK ONE
The Freak ONE was the Freak as it would have been designed and produced in the here and now. So the same principles of no dial, no hands and no crown remained, only wrapped in a black- DLCcoated titanium and rose gold case. It’s regulated by a silicon hairsp ring and an escapement treated with DIAMonSIL. Freak ONE has a Grinder® winding syst em providing 90 hours of power reserve. The Freak ONE proudly received the «Iconic Watch Prize» at the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève 2023.
